Meet camilla

We moved from Faroe Islands to Selfoss, Iceland,  in 2018. It has been an incredible journey so far, and we love the roughness and nature surrounding us! The volcanos, the mountains, the hot springs and the magnificent glaciers to mention a few!

I have become more and more aware of what I eat, what I use as creams, soaps, shampoos, lip balms, perfumes and so on - and all to often surprised to know that what I have used and thought as "natural" was filled with nasty stuff!

I came about soap making after my dear friend from Faroe Islands sent me one of her homemade soaps. When that bar was done, I was in trouble... I wanted more! So I tried to make my own little batch...

And that's where it started!

The processes, the oils, the scents, the designs, the tops, the sprinkles, the additives, the milks, the colors  - so many and so much room to let your fantasy go crazy!

I was very motivated to make something natural. Most of my soaps are therefore with 100% natural oils (of which many organic) and scented with essentiel oils, free from harmful chemicals, sodium laurel sulfate, parabenes, phthalates, hormone distruptors and artificial colouring/preservatives.

The method is called "cold process soap". Each soap is made in small batches with lots of love and attention to ensure the highest quality, and a lot of preparation goes into each recipe and design. Each soap bar cures for 4-6 weeks, and because each bar is handcrafted, they are unique and varies in size and design.

This is a small hobby of ours so far. I am new to this, and I am constantly learning new things. The chemistry behind soap making is incredible and much fun to learn. (I wish I had paid more attention in school in chemistry class... )

My sweet husband is helping me with all the technical stuff, designs, labels, giving thumbs up (or down) on new designs and scents and just being supportive. So I call this our project, and not just mine.

Thank you for reading this far and thank you for supporting my small hobby.

Best wishes Camilla
